The sapphire mattress is 12.2 inches thick with a plush pillowtop, fully pocket sprung. A pillowtop is an extra super-soft layer of padding permanently stiched onto the mattress. It’s designed to resemble a plush pillow resting on your bed, this non removable layer provides immediate “sink in” comfort while relying on the underlying mattress for support. A pocket sprung mattress features thousands of individual metal coils, each wrapped in it’s own fabric sleeve or “pocket”. Because these springs are not wired together , they act independently, when you press down on one spring, it’s neighbours remain still, allowing the mattress to contour to your body. The independent movement means you won’t roll towards the heavier sleeping partner. If a partner tosses and turns, the movement is absorbed by the individual springs, reducing nightime disturbances. The springs provide targeted support because they compress only where you apply weight e.g hips and shoulders promoting better spinal alignment. It comes rolled and boxed for easy delivery.
